Summer Art Instructor
The Public Art Centre seeks a well-organized and highly motivated individual for the position of Summer Art Instructor. They will be responsible for developing and running summer camp programs at the Public Art Centre which will be delivered with in-person activities.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a university or college program in Fine Art, Studio Art or equivalent.
An interest in arts education with some hands-on practical experience.
They will have interest in museum and gallery work, and specifically in the area of arts education.
A strong desire to work with children is necessary.
Applicants will be asked to submit to a police check including a vulnerable sector screening.
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program and is an eight week placement.

Assistant Summer Art Instructor

Be responsible for the cleanliness of the studio space with an emphasis on COVID cleaning protocols.
The ideal candidate will have some high school experience with an interest in fine art and studio art.
An interest in arts education with some hands-on practical experience.
They will have interest in museum and gallery work, and specifically in the area of arts education.
A strong desire to work with children is necessary.
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program and is an eight week placement.

Gallery Attendant
Gallery Attendants help to create an accessible and enjoyable experience in the Public Art Centre assisting visitors with a general understanding of current art exhibitions, while also focusing on protecting the art works and monitoring the gallery spaces.
Responsibilities include:
Answering Telephone and email inquiries
Data entry
Retail (gift shop)
Registration for classes and workshops
General cleaning duties including COVID requirements
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and the Program Director
